Faces in Toast – Fish Delusions (24) – 1940

1940

JD Salinger then writes the original version of “The Catcher in the Rye” with Holden Caulfield as the main character, and inexplicably the article is shelved for 6 years during World War II. Meanwhile, John Lennon is born during a WWII German air raid in 1940. His Dad goes away, his distraught Mom gives him to his Aunt to raise. Very, very similar in nature to Roger Waters’ Pink character from The Wall.
